A cut is an espresso coffee with a small amount of normally hot milk to remove a touch of bitterness. This drink is consumed practically all over the world. In Cuba and Puerto Rico it is known as “cortadito”, meanwhile in Venezuela it is known as “brown” to differentiate it from espresso without milk, which is called “black coffee” or simply “negrito”, and in numerous countries is called “macchiato”, taking the original name of Italy.
